Ruthie Love

As we put together our full lineup for Sirens 2016, we wanted to take a moment to share our love of Ruthie Foster with you.  Three time Grammy nominee, our headliner Ruthie Foster is currently soaring on the wings of her fine album, “Promise of a Brand New Day” ….which you can listen to here at this SPOTIFY LINK.  (side note: “Promise” was produced by Meshell Ndegeocello….alumna of Sirens 2013!!!!)

Ms. Foster has a way of inspiring you by getting deep in your spirit.  Her music is full of complex emotion, but there’s an energetic vibe to the tunes, too - the kind of funk that gets you to shimmy out onto the dance floor.  Ms. Foster is versatile, indeed.

Winner of the 2015 Koko Taylor Award for Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year, Ruthie Foster has once again been nominated for their 2016 award.  This nomination makes SIX consecutive years that she has been up for this significant honor, the highest accolade afforded to blues music performers.

Others of you may be familiar with her work with Warren Haynes: not only a player on his solo album, “Man in Motion”, Ruthie toured with Warren in 2011.  In 2009, she toured with the Blind Boys of Alabama.  And if you were lucky enough to catch her guest spot with the Allman Brothers Band & Susan Tedeschi at the Beacon a few years ago…..yeah, we’re jealous.

All to say - we’re absolutely thrilled to spend the solstice with Ms. Foster at the High Country Fairgrounds on June 18th, and we look forward to welcoming YOU to the festivities too.  Early bird tickets on sale now - limited number available.  Get yours now at the special rate - or just wish you had :)

We leave you with a video of Ruthie Foster’s “It Might Not Be Right”….and our sincere hope that you will join us for what will be an amazing night of music at Sirens 2016!
